One Lucky Baby :: Ottawa Newborn Photographer

Monday, May 6th, 2013

Yup. This is one lucky little guy. He decided to start a growth spurt on the day we did his session, so I got to spend lots of time just chatting with his parents. They are incredibly cool people with such a fantastic outlook on life. I felt like I had known them forever and it was such a pleasure to spend the afternoon with them. The wee man is awfully cute too! I didn’t even pose him with the bunny. He just curled right into him ;) So sweet!!

Week 10 365 Project :: Ottawa Family Photographer

Monday, March 18th, 2013

Wow…10 weeks and counting! I can’t believe I’ve stuck with it ;) Often I would see the little things that my kids did and laugh or think, “Gee, I should take a photograph of that,” but then it just seemed like too much work to get my “big girl” camera out and the moment was lost. This project is making me keep it at the ready and catch all those quirky little expressions that really don’t last that long. That, my friends, is why photography is so important!

March 5 Hot Stuff – Caught him totally hamming it up in the bathroom…Macaulay Caulkin??
March 6 – Montre et Raconte Avec Lilly – unicorns help with french homework…
March 7 – Melting – don’t make me beg.
March 8 – Museum of Civilization – LOVE this painting!
March 9 – The Diefenbunker…I seriously felt like I was in an episode of Lost!
March 10 – Fairy Catchers…thanks Pinterest, you’re a peach ;)
March 11 – “I must say…” Ed Grimely?

Week 9 365 Project :: Ottawa Photographer

Saturday, March 16th, 2013

Week 9 was all about purging in our home…actually since about mid January I have been going through things and really trying to let go of some stuff that is clearly not needed. Especially if it hasn’t been used in the almost 5 years since we’ve lived in Ottawa! We’ve also really tried to take advantage of all of the amazing museums in Ottawa since we can access them through the library’s pass system. I will sure miss that and so will our kids!

Feb 26 Teeth Cleaning…whoopee
Feb 27 White Out…spring, I’m begging you…
Feb 28 Goggles – we have a hilarious picture of him in these goggles when he was little…
March 1 Letting Go – see what I mean? Why do I have soothers still???
March 2 RCMP Stables – awesome to have the opportunity to go in and pet the horses and do various other activities
March 3 Canadian War Museum – really fascinating and I even found my Great Grandpa’s conscription papers dated 1918. Some of the photography exhibitions are incredible there right now too!
March 4 Retro Games with Papa – this week it was a basketball game that was HARD!

Yup, I haven’t quit…honest! Just busy with other stuff :) Here are the photographs from Week 7 of my 365 Project. Sorry it’s a little sparse. I was not permitted to post a couple of photos, but rest assured, I didn’t cheat :P

Feb 19 No Bangs – finally got them all out of her face…for 30 seconds
Feb 20 After School
Feb 21 Alice? A little bunny decided to make a home along our path and nibble our shrubs.
Feb 22 Sorry, can’t post :(
Feb 23 NAV Centre in Cornwall. Coolest board ever – it shows all the flights happening in NA in real time…I was fascinated!
Feb 24 Sorry, can’t post :(
Feb 25 Battleship

Just as an FYI, March and April are pretty much booked. I have a few openings in May and June and then finishing up some work in July and that’s it for Ottawa sessions…holy moly this is happening fast!!!

Soar :: Ottawa Family Photographer

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Back in January I was lucky enough to fly out to the beautiful Canadian Rockies to attend Dana Pugh’s Short and Sweet Winter Retreat.  There’s pretty much no “bad time” to go to Canmore and when some of your closest friends in the world live there, it’s ALWAYS a great time!

This is the little “shack” where the retreat was held…yup, slummed it for a couple of days for sure!

It was so great to meet some photographers that I’ve known via online forums for years and to meet some new friends as well.   The weekend was inspiring and thought provoking…lets just say my head hurt after.

I couldn’t leave without capturing my friend’s children…they are so lovely and I just wanted to photograph their sweet, energetic and creative spirits.   I expect they will soar to great heights in their lives and I love them to bits!!

Have a wonderful week!

N + D = Engaged :: Ottawa Wedding Photographer

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

I don’t photograph many weddings or advertise them really, but when the right couple comes along I am happy to oblige…And boy are these two the right couple! To make a long story short, her father commissioned me for their June wedding as they are both currently teaching overseas…I figured she had to be cool and I could live vicariously through her stories, so really, it’s a win-win! They are both Canadians, but they met traveling overseas and aren’t done yet – LOVE!

Here’s a sneak peak of many many more to come :)
