Corporate Headshots :: Ottawa Photographer

February 17th, 2012

I was floored when this lovely lady emailed me from Nunavut for head shots. Yes, you read that correctly! She periodically comes south for work and scheduled a session during one of her trips. It was wonderful to meet her and I loved the change of pace from baby photography. I didn’t have to “shoosh” in her ear once! :)

Isn’t she beautiful!?!

Baby Bits :: Ottawa Newborn Photographer

February 15th, 2012

I love photographing baby bits. Each newborn is so little and has his/her own personality that shines through from day 1. What amazes me is how much they change in those first few weeks. That dried up umbilical cord is only there for about a week – and it’s that cord that kept baby alive for 9 months. Wow! Their little feet have those little pin pricks from the hospital tests. Flaky, wrinkled newborn skin quickly gives way to chubby soft rolls of baby goodness. It’s all so new and lovely. You will cherish these photos in years to come and shake your head at just how much and how fast your little one has changed. I know I do. Daily!

The Way to My Heart :: Ottawa Photographer

February 15th, 2012

This week has been all about trying new things. Head shots and product shots involving wine (can’t say which kind yet, but let’s just say I’m pretty excited!). I love trying new things, being challenged and pushing both my technical and creative abilities. It’s what keeps things fresh in all aspects of photography for me. More details to come!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Go Roughriders! :: Ottawa Newborn Photographer

February 6th, 2012

Just a few more from THIS session. Grandpa played for the Ottawa Roughriders back in the day (hence the shot with the helmet) and I even got to hold/photograph a couple Grey Cup rings. Very cool! I did have a bit of a Shona moment, though, as I was all confused that the Roughriders colours were wrong…being a western transplant I had no clue that Ottawa used to have a team with the same name as those crazy cats from Saskatchewan! D’oh!

Happy Monday!

Paws Up :: Stittsville Newborn Photographer

February 2nd, 2012

I’m going to let you in on a little secret…I love babies!  I know, seriously shocking, isn’t it!?!  This little 6 day old peanut did not disappoint and he slept in my absolute favourite way for babies…paws up!  So cute, so organic, so deliciously natural to photograph.  I can’t wait to share more from this session!!

Royalty :: Ottawa Newborn Photographer

January 11th, 2012

I was in the presence of royalty this week…no I didn’t meet Prince William again.  BUT, I did photograph a beautiful little Prince Colby and his puddin’ eatin’ big sister Princess Jordana :)   Just a quick sneak peak!

Skip Bo & Murphy :: Ottawa Family Photographer

January 9th, 2012

My first session of 2012 was fab.u.lous! Grown children (that listen…and *blush* – so cute!) and an instant connection through like interests and welcoming parents.  What more can a girl ask for?!  Oh, and let’s not forget my brief introduction to a family favourite, Skip Bo, and their beautiful, poser of a dog, Murphy. I loved him so much that I offered to dog sit if they ever needed me to….and I wasn’t joking! :)

Here’s just a few from our session ~ enjoy!

Happy New Year! :: Ottawa Photographer

January 3rd, 2012

I gotta say, 2011 was a truly wonderful year for me both personally (except for my pooch :( ) and professionally. The two are linked so closely and this was the year that I jumped on opportunities with both feet, got my groove back and felt more grounded than I’ve probably ever felt. And THAT my friends, is a good feeling!

To celebrate, I’ve put together a small slideshow of some of my favourite shots from the past year. I think it’s important to reflect on the past, learn from it all and then move on. So here’s to 2011 and look out 2012! I’m ready to take on whatever it brings!

All Aboard! :: Ottawa Elf Photographer

December 24th, 2011

The Polar Express! Jack decided that on his last day in our home, he’d wrangle some of his friends into a train ride…with all the marshmallows he’s used up over the past 4 weeks, I’m sure he must of had some hot chocolate along the way!! You’re singing the song from the movie now right, aren’t you?! ;)

We will miss our wee Jack, but look forward to his return next December 1st!

Merry Christmas friends and may your day be filled with peace, love and joy!
